415 kilos of octopus seized in Olhão for fleeing the auction

Fish was found inside a vehicle

415 kilos of octopus that did not go through the auction, as is mandatory, were seized yesterday in Olhão by the GNR's Fiscal Action Unit (UAF).

In the course of an inspection aimed at vehicles for transporting goods, the military of Guarda detected the octopus being transported “without having been subject to the regime of first sale at auction (escape from the auction)”, according to the GNR.

"Of the seized octopus, ten kilos did not have the minimum size to be sold and therefore were immediately donated to a social solidarity institution, and the remaining 405 kilos were delivered to the auction in Olhão," he added.
