São Brás marked the National Day of the Mills with a visit to the Bengado mill

The Bengado mill "is representative of the molinological heritage, unique in the world, and of which Portugal should be proud", says the municipality.

The municipality of São Brás de Alportel marked this Wednesday, the 7th of April, the National Day of the Mills, with a visit to the Bengado mill. 

The Bengado mill, «representative of the Portuguese molinological heritage, unique in the world, and of which Portugal should be proud», was acquired and rehabilitated in 2005 by the municipality, having recently been the target of a maintenance and enhancement intervention, in an investment in value of 7085 euros.

On the National Day of the Mills, as part of an initiative coordinated by the Municipality's Center for Interpretation and Environmental Education (Quinta do Peral), the mill received a «visit from his old friends, namely the miller Paulino, who has been a miller for 15 years. assiduous collaborator in the dynamics of the mill», says the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.

The mill was also visited by «a couple of Dutch foreign residents, friends and defenders of the mills», the municipality also refers.
