The PS has no "competence to provide clarifications by AMAL" and went beyond "the limits of acceptable" by assuming the response to a request addressed by the president of the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta (UFMF) to the president of the Intermunicipal Community of Algarve.
The PS came out in defense of the socialist António Pina, who is, at the same time, president of AMAL and of the Chamber of Olhão, the two entities targeted by the parish council in a press release, where required the replacement of EVA careers that were suppressed due to limitations imposed by the State of Emergency.
PS Olhão said, at the time, that the UFMF's demands "not only lack any meaning, but also reveal a profound mismatch of reality" and criticized the social democrat Manuel Carlos, president of this Parish Council.
"For what purpose and with what authority does PS Olhão try to humiliate in the public square a mayor who has done nothing but fulfill his obligation: to watch over the superior interest of the population of the Union of Parishes entrusted to him, when they complain about seeing their mobility reduced even further?”, questioned the PSD of Olhão.
For this party structure, "if there is an arm wrestling between mayors of opposing parties, who is politicizing the issues and inciting a kind of pointless party guerrilla is the Socialist Party, trying to dominate everything, even what is not theirs, to the detriment of the interests of the population'.
"With this attitude, once again, we consider that PS Olhão exceeded all acceptable limits, confirming the arrogance and authoritarianism that are publicly recognized," accuse the social democrats of Olhão.
