The Algarve does not currently have any Covid-19 outbreaks in nursing homes and there are only positive cases among people who refused to be vaccinated. There is also good news for health professionals, as there are no infected.

Paulo Morgado, president of the Algarve Regional Health Administration, said today, at a press conference, that «we have no cases in health professionals in the Algarve and there are few cases in nursing homes».

"The ones that exist are from people who refused to receive the vaccine", explained the official.

In this context, the president of the ARS also added that "the process of vaccination in homes is finished, from our point of view."

"Incidentally, phase 1 of the vaccination process [which includes health professionals and users and workers of nursing homes] is outdated, we have already reached the target of 80 percent," he explained.

Paulo Morgado also revealed that, since March 15, 26277 Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the region, with 866 positive cases having been registered, corresponding to 3,29%.
