Montenegro: Road linking Largo do Povo to the Airport to be upgraded

The Chamber of Faro it has already opened a tender for the requalification of Rua Egas Moniz, which connects Largo do Povo, in Montenegro, to the Airport, in an investment of around 821 thousand euros.

"The intervention aims at requalifying this structural artery of the parish of Montenegro and foresees to introduce improvements at an aesthetic and functional level, favoring pedestrians and accessibility conditions, disciplining parking and improving road traffic conditions in this area of ​​the county", says the camera of Faro.

This contract "includes removal and demolition works, replacement of pavements, road markings, vertical signage, urban furniture and equipment, manholes, public lighting network, telephone infrastructure, rainwater drainage infrastructure, low walls, plant material and network of irrigation”, he adds.

Currently, also in the parish of Montenegro, the requalification work of another central artery, Rua Bento de Jesus Caraça (work was awarded for a total value of 506.978,81 euros), is already underway.

The aim is to revitalize this street – which runs from the roundabout in the center of Montenegro (Largo do Povo) to the EN125 bypass – “as well as this entire area of ​​great importance to the county, giving more space to pedestrians and improving traffic conditions. circulation, pedestrian and automobile'.

The consignment and execution of the works for the rehabilitation of Egas Moniz street – whose award criterion is the economically most advantageous proposal – will thus be subject to obtaining approval from the Court of Auditors.
