Maria Joaquina Matos, current PS deputy in the Assembly of the Republic and former mayor of Lagos, is the head of the list of socialists for the Municipal Assembly of Lagos in the next Municipal Elections.
The decision was taken on the 5th of April, unanimously, after a meeting of the Political Commission of the Municipality of the PS of Lagos.
Joaquina Matos, who is a retired teacher, was the mayor of Lagos from 2013 to 2019, the year she left for Parliament.
She is currently a deputy and belongs to the National Defense, Education, Science, Youth and Sports and Labor and Social Security Committees.
At this meeting, more candidates were also chosen.
For the Parish Councils, Carlos Saúde Fernandes (São Gonçalo de Lagos), Duarte Rio (Bensafrim and Barão de São João), Carlos Fonseca (Odiáxere) and João Reis (Luz) will once again be heads of the list. , continuity of the good work that these mayors have done in favor of their communities», says the PS/Lagos.
As agent of Hugo Pereira's candidacy for president of the Chamber, Dr. Luís Afonso was chosen.
