António Aleixo was born in Vila Real de Santo António on February 18, 1899

The exhibition “Collection of panels by António Aleixo” will be on display from the 3rd to the 28th of May at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, in Tavira.

«With the aim of praising the poet's memory and work, renewing the interest of the new generations and motivating the community to discover it, the Vila-Realense municipality developed this project for itinerancy», says Câmara de Tavira.

The coordination was in charge of Miguel Godinho, the texts were by Marcelo Jerónimo, the illustration/drawings by David Mota and the graphic design was the responsibility of the Social Communication and Protocol Office (CMVRSA).

António Aleixo was born in Vila Real de Santo António on 18 February 1899 and died on 16 November 1949 in Loulé.

Distinguished popular poet, known for his irony and social criticism, was considered a simple man, having left a unique poetic work in the Portuguese literary panorama of the first half of the XNUMXth century.
