The 289 cultural association will reopen its exhibition space to publicize the “Apostrophe” exhibition, an art exhibition that can be visited until June 13, in Faro. The inauguration of the exhibition will take place tomorrow, the 23rd of April.
The exhibition will feature guest artists such as Ana Rostron, Angelo Gonçalves, Bertílio Martins, Bota Filipe, Bruno Grilo, Bruno Paixão, Christine Henry, Fernando Sampaio Amaro, gat.uno, Gustavo Jesus, João R. Ferreira or João Ferro Martins.
Also part of the exhibition are artists José Jesus, Joana R. Sá, Jorge Mestre Simão, Leandro Marcos, Marta Pedroso, Miguel Cheta, Milita Doré, Patrícia Serrão, Paulo Serra, Pedro Cabral Santo, Régis Vincent, Samuel Silva, Susana de Medeiros , Tiago Batista, Vasco Marum Nascimento and Xana.
«The house of 289 welcomes us once again, in its container space, which can serve as a refuge, escape, rest. It strengthens possibilities of happening. To go back to the time when art houses are alive. Because bodies segregate space. It is the bodies that define the meaning of spaces, that transform them into place», says Susana de Medeiros, guest artist at the exhibition.
Entrance will be free, and the exhibition can be visited with limited entry to a limit of 10 people simultaneously, inside the space, and complying with the mandatory use of a mask.
At the entrance to 289, disinfectant gel will also be available and visitors must respect the safety distance rules of 2 meters between those who are not part of their group.
«What Casa da 289 proposes (and all the artists who will temporarily inhabit it) is perhaps leaps into the unknown, exercises in experimenting with freedom, a 'stretching' of relational 'qualities'. So let's try jumping», stresses Susana de Medeiros.
The exhibition “APOSTROPHE” will be open until the 13th of June, and can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, between 15 pm and 00 pm.
The exhibition will take place at the headquarters of cultural association 289, in the manor house of Sítio das Pontes de Marchil, at the entrance to Faro.
