The singer Sara Afonso will be the only Algarve to compete in the final of the Festival da Canção, next Saturday, March 6th, after Ana Tereza stayed by the way in the second semi-final.

Ana Tereza sang, in the semi-final last Saturday, February 27th, “Com um Abraço”, a song by Viviane and Tó Viegas, with lyrics by Viviane.

The song turned out not to be one of the five chosen to go to the final.

The places were filled by “Volte-Face” (Eu.Clides), “Joana do Mar” (Joana Alegre), “No Vou Ficar” (Pedro Gonçalves), “Por um Triz” (Carolina Deslandes) and “Dancing in The Stars” (NEEV).

Thus, Sara Afonso, who played in the semi final on 20 February, will be the only Algarve singer to participate in this Saturday's final, as Nadine, who also took the stage in the first final, was unable, at the time, to be a of the chosen ones.

In the grand finale, Sara Afonso, who will interpret “Contramão”, composed by pianist Filipe Melo, will be competing with nine other songs.

Finalist songs:

“Love is on My Side” – (The Black Mamba)

“In the Deepest Saudade” (Valéria)

“Beautiful Day” (Fábia Maia)

“Saudade” (Karetus & Romeu Bairos)

"Against" (Sara Afonso)

“No I'm Going to Stay” (Pedro Gonçalves)

"By a Close" (Carolina Deslandes)
