Portimão will have all-inclusive holidays during the Easter school break

Project aims to help families that have children and young people with specific needs

For the first time, the Municipality of Portimão will launch an inclusive vacation project, during the Easter school break, aimed at students who attend learning centers specializing in multi-disability and/or autism (CAE).

Other young people from the municipality may also participate who, even if they do not use these facilities, "may lack this need, in order to guarantee their occupation and support their respective families".

This initiative starts on the 29th of March, runs until the 1st of April, and «takes into account the households that, during the period of school break, due to Easter, need to ensure the well-being and quality of life of their children and young people, due to the fact that they have difficulties in reconciling the family reality with the professional activity», explains the Portimão City Council.

To implement the project, «a cooperation and partnership protocol was signed between the Municipality of Portimão and the School Groups Eng.º Nuno Mergulhão, Manuel Teixeira Gomes and da Bemposta, where the CAE operate, bringing together all the necessary conditions for the development of this project. support, which will also cover the school break to take place next summer and Christmas».

For the period of the summer school interruption, the Municipality also renewed its support to the Teia d'Impulsos association which, since 2018, has been developing a worthy work with children and young people with special needs, through the FICA project – Inclusive Holidays for the Algarve Community.

Registration for inclusive holidays during the Easter break are now open, including a set of therapeutic and recreational-pedagogical activities, open from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm in the three School Groupings that are partners in this initiative, with meal support.
