“Unir & Renovar Tavira” Movement applies for the Municipal Assembly

Candidacy to the Chamber is not ruled out

The “Unir & Renovar Tavira” movement, headed by João Rocha Silva, 29 years old and resident in Santo Estêvão, will run for the Municipal Assembly of Tavira in the next Municipal Elections and also does not rule out candidacies for City Hall and Parishes.

In a press release, this movement explains that it is open "to dialogue to support independent projects and agreements to support candidacies that are committed and honest with the citizens."

As for the Municipal Assembly, “Unir & Renovar Tavira” explains that the candidacy “intends to outline an independent alternative, proposing measures that meet the problems of the territory”.

The concerns include “the fight against the desertification of the interior, youth, social protection, infrastructure recovery, development of proposals for the preservation of traditions, promotion of new ideas for tourism, designing a solution for Pego do Inferno, among other projects”.

Moreover, this movement says that, if it wins or manages to elect municipal representation, it will “immediately present a proposal for the creation of a municipal ethics commission, an essential measure for regulating the democracy of local government”.

According to “Unir & Renovar Tavira, “in a nationwide commitment, responding to the deficiencies caused by the new municipal law that threatens the civic participation of independent candidacies, We, Citizens – PPM – Aliança – RIR, accepted our proposed challenge and thus our independent movement has guaranteed viability in the ballot boxes».
