Man who stole 300 euros in Luz de Tavira caught trying to escape

A 51-year-old man was arrested in the act this Thursday, March 11, after having stolen 300 euros from the cash register of a commercial establishment in Luz de Tavira.

According to the GNR, the military caught the suspect "on the public road, while he was trying to escape."

Following the police investigations, it was possible to recover the stolen money and also other items that are presumed to have also been stolen, but on another occasion: two laptop computers, two mobile phones and a drill still packed.

Moreover, according to the GNR, this man's car had also been stolen, but in Amadora. The man also brought "with him a dog, whose chip reading revealed it to be someone else's, and steps are being taken to return the animal to the rightful owner."

The detainee was made an arguido and the facts were referred to the Judicial Court of Tavira.
