Falcão and Coelho go ahead in the qualifying of Vale do Lobo Open Magnesium-K Active II

Gonçalo Falcão and Fábio Coelho qualified, this Monday, for the third and final round of the qualifying at Vale do Lobo Open II Magnesium-K Active, on the same day that four compatriots got to know their first opponents in the main frame.

Eleventh seed of the qualifying, Gonçalo Falcão (1340th) came back to win in straight sets, by applying the partials of 6-3 and 7-6(5) to the Spaniard Jesus Echevarri and will discuss the move to the main frame with the Frenchman Axel Garcian (1303º).

Fábio Coelho (1350th), in turn, overcame Spaniard Gianmarco Amatiste (1833th), 6-0 and 6-3, to schedule a meeting with Frenchman Hugo Pontico (1070th and sixth seed).

On Monday's journey, Tiago Rodrigo Fernandes (6-1 and 6-1 for Ronan Joncour), Tomás Almeida (6-0 and 6-2 favorable to Bradley Paliska), Francisco Faria (4-6, 6) also came into action -3 and 10-5 for Peter Goldsteiner) and José Ricardo Nunes (6-1 and 6-4 for Hugo Pontico), but they didn't make it through.

This Monday was also the day for several Portuguese to get to know their first opponents in the main tables. In singles, Tiago Cação (553th) was the only one of the Portuguese representatives to obtain direct entry and will have as his opponent one of the series heads: the Belgian Christopher Heyman, who is the 417th in the world hierarchy and, therefore, the eighth pre-designated .

Gastão Elias (381st) did not apply and therefore needed a wild card, but went directly to the list of seeds (it will be the third) and will have as first opponent the Frenchman Lucas Poullain (514th), who this Sunday played the final of the Faro Open.

Pedro Araújo (1326th) and Francisco Cabral (1112th) were also invited by the organization and will face, respectively, the German Lucas Gerch (464th) and the French Maxime Hamou (366th), second candidate for the title.

The Vale do Lobo Open II Magnesium-K Active, organized by Premier Sports, with the support of the Portuguese Tennis Federation, takes place until the 14th of March on the fast-floor courts of the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy.

The tournament will distribute $25 in prize money.
