The number of documents communicated to e-invoice registered brutal drops last year in education, passes, catering and hairdressing.

Over the past year, Portuguese taxpayers have presented more invoices for expenses with veterinarians, nursing homes and motorcycle repairs than in 2019. In the midst of the pandemic, these were only the three activities that had the most documents communicated with the tax identification number (TIN) of the than in the pre-health crisis period.

The category that grew the most was expenditure on veterinarians, with an increase of 14,2% compared to 2019. This sector of activity was one of the last to thicken the list of expenses, entering 2017, along with public transport passes . Taxpayers who complete the TIN are entitled to a 15% deduction of VAT. Almost 549 more invoices were communicated and validated than in 2019, corresponding to an increase of 14%. This is followed by the repair of motorcycles, with an increase of 6,7% and, finally, homes, which registered an increase of 5,5%. Everything else fell down.
