The Alcoutim Council is going to recover the Windmill of Pateira to create a Country House there, with the aim of housing walkers.
On 6 January, the local authority saw the approval of an application to the Action Plan for the Development of Endogenous Resources (PADRE) called “READY – Endogenous Resources and Development of Active Tourism”.
The application therefore envisages “the restoration of the Windmill of Pateira to Casa de Campo (Hostel), with two bedrooms, two living rooms, pantry, toilets and vestibule, and which will be developed in an urban building, located in the Pateira site. , next to Povoação de Afonso Vicente, on land with an approximate area of 520 square meters, with a gross building area of 118,90 square meters».
According to the Municipality of Alcoutim, «the aim is to create a space to accommodate walkers on the Via Algarviana, as well as hikers, cycle tourism and mountain biking».
The operation, which is expected to be completed by December 31, 2022, has an eligible investment of 260.026,95 euros, to which a community contribution (FEDER) of 182.018,86 euros was attributed.
