Silves sees the Local Security Contract renewed for the project “O Bairro é Meu!”

Project aims to support the integration and enhancement of Bairro da Caixa D'Água and Bairro SAAL

The Local Security Contract (CLS) of the “O Bairro é Meu!” project, aimed at «supporting the integration and enhancement of the Bairro da Caixa D'Água and Bairro SAAL (Local Ambulatory Support Service)», in Silves, was renewed by the Government.

"The continuation of this project - aimed at social inclusion, prevention of juvenile delinquency and combating the reduction of social vulnerabilities - will allow us to continue the work that has been carried out since 2018 and which included the renovation of the multi-sport and current headquarters of the project, the revitalization of urban spaces, the construction of Parque Jorge Ponciano, the attribution of place names, the development of youth enrichment activities and support for education, among other initiatives», framed the City Council of Silves.

According to Rosa Palma, president of the municipality, in this new chapter of the project, the municipality intends to «reinforce the spirit of community by promoting the creation of an association of residents in the neighbourhood», improve infrastructure and, «above all, overcome problems- base, such as absenteeism and school dropouts and social exclusion”

The execution of this initiative, in the year 2021, will be around 41 thousand euros.

 

The municipality of Silves is the promoter of this initiative, which has the Brotherhood of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Silves as the managing entity.

Also part of this CLS consortium are the Parish Council of Silves, the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth of Silves, the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Silves, the Group of Schools of Silves and the Employment and Vocational Training Institute – Silves Formation Pole.

Among the project's partners are the local Health Centre, the IPSS Amigos dos Pequeninos, the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Silves, the Red Cross, the Association of Retired Persons and Pensioners of Silves, the Sports and Cultural Group of Enxerim, the CAFAP – IPSS “Castelo dos Sonhos”, the Silvense Philharmonic Society and the CNE Group 181.
