Farense drew 2-2 against Vitória de Guimarães, in a delayed match of the 14th round of the I League of football. After being postponed twice, in January, due to ice on the pitch, the match took place today, February 17, and, even reduced to 10 players, Jorge Costa's team managed to bring points from Estádio D. Afonso Henriques .

The Algarvians entered the game well and could have scored as early as the 5th minute, in an unusual move. O shortly Ryan Gauld headed in after a corner, and it wasn't a goal unless Mensah cut the ball over the line.

The goal ended up coming minutes later, from the corner…but for the home team. Rochinha crossed and Pepelu, unmarked, headed into Defendi's net (14′).

Farense was even playing well, benefiting a lot from the speed of Madi Queta, the young winger who has done good performances for the Algarve. At the 21st minute, the player, who reinforced Farense this year, suffered a foul by Jorge Fernandes and the referee did not hesitate to score a penalty.

Gauld was, as usual, called to convert and did not fail, re-establishing the tie in the encounter.

The game remained balanced, with both teams showing that they had attacking arguments, but individual quality came to the fore.

Marcus Edwards received a pass from André André, advanced a few meters and, from outside the area, shot hard, with the ball entering the post. A great goal from Edwards, left foot, which gave Vitória the advantage with which it went to the dressing room.

The second half remained balanced, but without great chances to score. On 55′, Miguel Luís shot hard, after a rebound, but the ball still went far from Defendi's goal.

After six minutes, annoyance for Farense. Alex Pinto got the second yellow card and was sent off for a foul on Rochinha, who complained about his face.

Jorge Costa had to move, launched Bura to play right defense and Hugo Seco and Stojiljkovic to attack. The changes paid off, with the Serbia striker leveling the game in the 79th minute.

Abner made a long throw, the ball hit without anyone cutting it and it was left to Stojiljkovic who headed in. In added time, Farense even scored again, but the bid was canceled for offside by Hugo Seco.

With this tie, Farense now has 17 points and is in 14th position, two points above the waterline.
