Vaccination in nursing homes in the Algarve will start «predictably from Tuesday», in the municipalities of Tavira and Albufeira, the Algarve municipalities that currently have the highest incidence of Covid-19 contagion.
The revelation was made, this Friday, at a press conference, by Paulo Morgado, president of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve.
The official stressed, even so, that the start of vaccination in homes on the scheduled date will depend on the arrival of more doses of vaccine against Covid-19 in the Algarve.
“We hope it will be distributed on Monday. If so, we start with vaccination on Tuesday», he said.
In relation to the vaccination of health professionals, which started on December 29, « 1800 hospital employees and 400 Health Center employees have already been vaccinated. We will continue this process next week», he concluded.
