Vilamoura Equestrian Center distinguished with "Award Excellence" by Horse Republic

Out of a total of 4000 organizers, only 10 received this distinction

The Vilamoura Equestrian Center was distinguished with the level of 'Award Excellence' by the publication Horse Republic, an award given, in 2020, for the quality of the organization of international equestrian competitions.

The Vilamoura Equestrian Center was one of the 10 organizers of international equestrian events that received the distinction of 'Award Excellence' in a total of more than 4.000 competitors who, throughout 2020, organized equestrian competitions in various parts of the globe.

«The attribution of the degree of 'Award Excellence', in the face of very strong competition from countries with a long tradition in the organization of international equestrian events, is an award for our equestrian center but also for Vilamoura and the Algarve for the logistics it involves and for the presence of the best riders and horses in the world», considers António Moura, coordinator of the Equestrian Center of Vilamoura.

“Horse Republic took into account in its analysis the fact that the Vilamoura Equestrian Center had complied with the sanitary controls required by national and international authorities, supported by the most modern technology for this type of situation”, he added.

Recently, between October and November, qualifying events for the next Olympic Games in Tokyo, in 2021, took place at the Vilamoura equestrian complex.

This event brought together in the Algarve the leading names in world equestrian sport such as Marta Ortega, Athina Onassis, Cayetano Martinez de Irujo and Jessica Springsteen.

Over these two months, 350 of the best riders in the world, from 40 countries and more than 1.200 horses, valued in millions of euros, participated in the various events, with a total of 2.000 people including trainers, handlers, associated services and escorts.
