The City Council of Aljezur will grant extraordinary support of around 25 thousand euros to firefighters, aimed at repairing operational vehicles.
The money will be used to "deal with the expenses with repairs to vehicles, which needed intervention in order to maintain their operation, a fundamental condition for supporting the population", according to the City Council of Aljezur.
This additional support to the Association of Voluntary Firefighters is justified by the Aljezurense autarchy with the institution's revenue drop, "both in commercial terms and in terms of patient transport services."
On the other hand, the Aljezurenses firefighters are struggling with «a car park scenario with a few years and with many kilometers covered, in operational terms and service to the municipality's population», despite the readiness and operability of the Fire Brigade « never have been concerned'.
Even so, the municipality considered that, given the importance of the mission of the firefighters, "it is necessary and essential the effort and the redoubled attention to this institution".
