The Chamber of Faro promotes another edition of the António Ramos Rosa National Poetry Prize, whose prize is 5 thousand euros. The delivery of the works will take place from the 7th of January to the 31st of March.
The award, which was instituted in 1999, has once again the high sponsorship of the Fundação Milénio BCP and the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and Jornal de Letras.
The delivery of the competing works will take place between the 7th of January and the 31st of March and poetic works, in the 1st edition, published in 2019 and 2020, will be admitted.
The jury will be composed of Nuno Júdice, Carina Infante do Carmo and Isabel Lucas.
This award, of which seven editions have already taken place, in 1999, 2001, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2017 and 2019, seeks to promote the appearance of new poets, but also to recognize the work of those already established.
In all editions, there were more than 50 works in competition, having been awarded to poets of recognized literary excellence such as Fernando Echevarria, Fernando Guimarães, Nuno Júdice, João Rui de Sousa, Luís Quintais, João Luís Barreto Guimarães and Gastão Cruz.
The award ceremony is scheduled for September, as part of the City Day celebrations, on a date to be defined.
