Navy ship completes nine-month mission in the Southern Maritime Zone

The fast inspection boat Hidra also collaborated with Zoomarine by supporting the return of two sea turtles to the sea

The NRP Hidra returned this Thursday, December 4th, to the Lisbon Naval Base, after fulfilling a nine-month mission in the South Maritime Zone, where it carried out a total of 1020 hours of navigation and covered 9.272 nautical miles, the equivalent of over 17 kilometers.

"Throughout this period, the ship was engaged in various tasks at sea, including maritime search and rescue and patrol and surveillance of maritime spaces," says the National Maritime Authority.

The Hidra Rapid Inspection Speedboat also collaborated with Zoomarine, by supporting the return to the sea of ​​two sea turtles that were undergoing rehabilitation at the harbor.

The NRP Hidra is commanded by Second Lieutenant Yazide Sulemane and has a garrison composed of eight elements, an officer, a sergeant and six soldiers.
