Salir will have another 17 dwellings, in a 2,1 million investment by the Loulé Council

Project includes the construction of 5 affordable income homes

The opening of public tenders for the construction of 17 dwellings in Salir was approved at a meeting of the Loulé Council, thus initiating the «implementation of the actions foreseen in the parish of Salir within the scope of the Local Housing Strategy».

The three lots where the 17 houses will be built are located in Fonte da Rata, along with other facilities such as the EBI Prof. Sebastião Teixeira and the Community Center.

Lots 1 and 2 comprise 12 dwellings in total and represent an investment of around 1,5 million euros. These collective housing buildings are part of the various projects planned for the municipality of Loulé, under the protocol signed recently with the IHRU – Institute for Housing and Urban Rehabilitation, under the “1st Right” Program.

In relation to lot 3, this includes 5 affordable rent homes, with a total value of around 600 thousand euros.

The Loulé municipality explains that, "in addition to seeking to ensure housing for the most needy population (supported lease), these constructions will also allow the creation of conditions of access to affordable rental housing for the middle class, young people, or some professionals displaced to the region, such as doctors or teachers who have difficulties in finding accommodation in the market”.

However, in the next ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly, the Regulation will be submitted for approval, which defines the criteria for those who wish to apply for access to housing in the Municipality of Loulé.

The main goal of the Local Housing Strategy is to directly support 1400 households by the year 2030.
