Portimonense was even winning, but ended up losing 3-1 against FC Porto, in the 7th round of the I League of football, played this Sunday, 8 November.

For the visit to Estádio do Dragão, Paulo Sérgio made four changes compared to the last game, leaving Fabrício, Pedro Sá, Welinton and Fali Candé. Moufi, Lucas Possignolo, Beto and Aylton were new in the starting 11 of a game that started balanced.

FC Porto seems not to be as strong as in other years and Portimonense knew they could take advantage of the weaknesses of Sérgio Conceição's team,

In the 14th minute, the Algarvians got ahead even on the scoreboard. Moufi made a wide cross and Beto appeared at the far post, where he headed for the goal. Portimonense was surprising the national champion.

The blues and whites were far from dazzling, despite having more ball and attacks. At 21′, Matheus Uribe, who came out minutes later to make way for Taremi, had a chance to equalize, but his header, after Sergio Oliveira's corner, came out close to the post.

In the opposite goal, Beto even made the second of the match – and personal account -, but the move was canceled for a foul against Mbemba (30′).

Until, in the last minute of the first-half discounts, FC Porto reached a draw. Sérgio Oliveira took the corner, central Mbemba jumped higher than the defenders of Portimonense and headed for 1-1.

Portimonense started the second half badly and conceded another goal, just in the 46th minute. Sérgio Oliveira, one of the best FC Porto, crossed the ball into the area, where Mehdi Taremi appeared with a well-placed header.

The advantage could have been extended to 67, but Luiz Diaz, after having received the ball in the area, rolled and shot already down.

Paulo Sérgio launched new blood, with Wellinton, Candé and Júlio César, and Portimonense put more pressure on FC Porto in search of a draw.

But it was the blues and whites who scored, in a quick counterattack. Corona served Sérgio Oliveira who shot inside the area, sealing, in the 88th minute, the final 3-1.

With this result, Portimonense occupies the last place in the table, with 4 points won. In the next round, on 29 November, the Algarve receives the Nacional da Madeira.
