Birth Premature and IKEA remodel “Parents Room and Mothers Room” at CHUA Neonatology

Inauguration takes place on World Prematurity Day

The remodeling project for the "Parents Room and Mothers' Room" of the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Medicine Service (SMIPN) of the Hospital de Faro will be inaugurated this Tuesday, November 17th, the day that marks the World Prematurity Day. This remodeling is offered by Associação Nascer Prematuro and by IKEA.

The inauguration of the renovated space, scheduled for 11:00 am, will be attended by Ana Castro, chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA), representatives of Associação Nascer Prematuro, IKEA and the Board of SMIPN.

This remodeling results from the application of Associação Nascer Prematuro, in 2018, to the IKEA project “Small changes, great future”.

Nascer Prematuro – Portuguese Association of Parents of Premature Babies «cooperates with CHUA in various activities with the aim of helping to improve care conditions for newborns and parents in this hospital unit and after discharge».

Among the activities already developed and in progress, Nascer Prematuro acquired in 2019 and 2020 two incubators for the SMIPN and maintains the “De Igual para Igual” project, among other projects related to prematurity.
