The exhibition “Território Solar”, with works of contemporary photography by Novo Banco and curated by Maria Eduarda Duarte, opens on December 10, at the Municipal Museum of Faro.
“Solar Territory” is the result of yet another collaboration between the Municipality and Novo Banco and promotes a reading of space, beyond its physical and geographical limits.
«Inspired by the work of António Ramos Rosa, a poet recognized throughout the world, with several awards – including the Pessoa Award –, a set of works from the Novo Banco Contemporary Photography Collection were selected that reflect this connection to the place, a space that can be of belonging, but also of constant search», says the Chamber of Faro.
The shows will run until March 28, 2021.
Novo Banco's photography collection is one of the most awarded corporate collections. In 2011 she was awarded the “Corporate Collection Award” by ARCOMadrid. In 2014 it integrates the ranking of the 100 best institutional collections in the world, moving in 2015 to the even more restricted core of the 80 best corporate collections in the world by Global Corporate Collection. In 2018, she was awarded at the European Parliament, with the international Corporate Art Awards: “For the Outstanding Photography Collection of 21st century living”.
