Marta Temido warns: "33% of hospitalized patients are between 40 and 69 years old"

Health minister Marta Temido said this Wednesday, in a tone of warning to the youngest, that, of the total number of patients admitted with covid-19 in Portuguese hospitals, 33% are between 40 and 69 years old.

At the usual press conference to present the country's epidemiological data, Marta Temido announced that, of all patients hospitalized with covid-19, 33% are between 40 and 69 years old, 63% are over 70 years old and 4% under 40 years old .

"This means that it is not only people who contract the disease at an older age who need hospitalization", recalled the Minister of Health, adding that, of the 5891 new cases reported in today's bulletin, "more than a thousand correspond to people between 40 and 69 years old”.
