João Albino Silva wins Career Award from the Portuguese Economists Order

João Albino is Full Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics (FE) of the University of Algarve (UAlg)

João Albino Silva, Full Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics (FE) of the University of Algarve (UAlg), was awarded the “Carreira Prize” by the Algarve regional delegation of the Ordem dos Economistas.

This award recognizes the distinguished career dedicated to serving the public cause of the university professor, who is also president of the Scientific Council and director of the PhD program in Tourism at the FE, as well as a researcher at the Center for Research in Tourism, Sustainability and Good -Being of the UAlg.

He was president of the National Tourism Observatory, general coordinator of the Research and Innovation Agenda for Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology, scientific advisor to the General Directorate of Tourism of Portugal and CCDR Algarve and chairman of the National Commissions to evaluate the tourism courses of Portuguese universities. He represents the University of Algarve at the Tourism Intelligent Forum and is scientific coordinator of the Sustainable Tourism Observatory of the Algarve Region and member of the Order of Economists.

The award will be presented to João Albino Silva at a public ceremony that the OE regional delegation will promote on December 9th, at 19 pm, in the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics, on the UAlg Campus of Gambelas
