Heavy rain causes flooding in Castro Marim, Monte Gordo and Tavira

The intense rain that fell on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 26, caused flooding in places like Castro Marim, Monte Gordo and Tavira. 

In total, "13 occurrences were recorded, none of them serious," he said to the Sul Informação, source of the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro.

In Castro Marim, the rain caused flooding at the entrance to the village, on the IC27, the road that links Alcoutim to Castro Marim. Francisco Amaral, mayor, told our newspaper that "there was no major damage" in the village, despite "some water having entered the GNR post."

Already in Monte Gordo, municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, heavy rainfall flooded streets and roads.

In the municipality of Tavira, the National Road 397, which connects the city to Cachopo, «is cut off, in the Ponte do Zimbral area», revealed, to our newspaper, the CDOS.

In Pechão and Moncarapacho (Olhão) there is also a record of occurrences related to flooding due to the fall of rain.
