“Active Children – Live Children” project starts in Albufeira

Pre-school physical education project in kindergartens of the municipality's public network

The pre-school physical education project in the kindergartens of the public network in the municipality of Albufeira starts this Tuesday, the 6th of October. This is the project “Crianças Ativas – Crianças Vivas”, whose objective is to promote the psychomotor development of children between 3 and 6 years old, through the offer of a physical education program.

This activity takes place once or twice a week, during the hours of the non-teaching component.

This school year, "exceptional" and due to constraints related to Covid 19, the activity during non-school hours "should be attended only by children from the AAAF - Family Animation and Support Activities, and in some circumstances the possibility of frequency by children who do not benefit from the AAAF», explains the Municipality of Albufeira.

The Municipality of Albufeira has seven ongoing educational projects, which allow it to support families by monitoring children, inside and outside of schools, whether during holidays or during school time.

These are the projects "Education Care Unit", "Active Children-Live Children", "SER - Concentration and Relaxation Techniques", "Occupational Therapy", "Speech Therapy", "(A)Cling-me no Algarve – 365 Algarve” and “Play, learn and grow in the school playground”.

“It's a bet on the future. If we want the best for tomorrow, it is in the present that we have to invest: attractive, functional schools that are the pride of the entire educational community, but where the time spent there is also an asset, ensuring greater accessibility for children to actions that provide them with a healthier growth”, defends José Carlos Rolo, former director of Escola Secundária de Albufeira, current president of the City Council, where he is also responsible for the Education department.
