“Atlantic on Bike” project comes to an end with a swing session

This project started in 2017 and comes to an end this year

The balance of the “Atlantic on Bike” project, of which the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) is a part, will be presented this Wednesday, October 28, at 10:40 am, in an online session.

This project started in 2017 and comes to an end this year, connecting the Northern Cape of Norway to Portugal over 11 thousand cycling kilometers, crossing six countries on the European Atlantic coast on the EuroVelo1 route.

With the participation of all international partners – Norway, Ireland, France, Portugal, Spain and England – the project's closing seminar will address the main actions developed in the European territories covered by «Atlantic on Bike».

Three and a half years after its start and with 4,6 million euros invested (75% of which was financed by Europe under the Atlantic Area programme), the project led by the French department of the Pyrenees Atlantiques is now entering its completion phase.

In Portugal, the EuroVelo1 route is divided into 18 national sections, five of them crossing the Algarve, a region represented in the project by the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL) and by RTA.
