Minister in Algarve to visit COVID Lares Line call center

Project results from a partnership between Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon and Algarve Biomedical Center

The COVID Lares Line starts operating this Friday, October 2nd. To mark the moment, Ana Mendes Godinho, minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, visits the call center, located in the Algarve Stadium.

Through the number 700 20 70 70, homes across the country now have support 24 a day, 7 days a week.

In addition to clarifying doubts and providing information, the telephone line will streamline households' contact with local health, civil protection and social security entities, facilitating the reporting of risk situations to the competent authorities.

The COVID Lares Line is the result of a partnership between Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon and the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC), as part of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security's integrated program to support homes.

“This is a project to allow a permanent follow-up of institutions, monitoring and responding to their needs”, stresses SCML.
