The Chamber of Faro launched a new financial support for the lease, whose applications are already open.
This measure was implemented as part of a series of initiatives promoted by the Chamber of Faro to face the difficulty of accessing housing, which has not only occurred in the most vulnerable social strata, but also in other segments of the population, including the youngest, the oldest and also those who seek Faro to live and work, but find it difficult to find a home.
The current times of Covid-19 also require "additional public responses in areas where the impacts will be more significant and burdensome, in this case, with the objective of seeking that households maintain/access decent housing", says the municipality, in press release.
In this sense, citizens who meet a set of conditions may benefit from this support, namely residing in the municipality without interruption for at least three years, being over 18 years old, in a disadvantaged socio-economic situation and holding a contract of lease for housing purposes.
The amount of the co-payment is determined as a function of the aggregate effort rate, corresponding to one of the levels according to Annex IV of the Regulation, available here
Requests can be made as of the 9th of October, by applying for an application for the allocation of economic support to the private lease, duly completed and signed and accompanied by the requested documents.
The general conditions of access or any doubts or clarifications can be requested from the Division of Social Intervention and Participatory Policies (DISPP) of the City Council of Faro, during normal business hours, by calling 289 870 869 or to the e-mail [email protected].
Applications can be submitted subject to the way in which the services operate at any given time, according to the evolution of the pandemic, directly at the Municipality's Balcão Único, located at Loja do Cidadão, in the Municipal Market of Faro; at DISPP, at Praça José Afonso, n. 1, 8000-173 Faro; by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to the address of DISPP or by sending via email ([email protected]).
