DiVaM has music, landscape writing workshop, film and lecture to offer

The theme of this edition of DiVaM is “Human Rights, Equality and Non-Discrimination”

Music, a landscape writing workshop, cinema and a lecture on Faro in Roman times, these are some of the proposals of DiVaM – Dynamization and Enhancement of the Monuments of the Algarve from 13th to 18th October.

On the 13th of October, at 10:30 am, Paderne Castle hosts the second session of the “Oficina das Igualdades em Paderne”.

This will be a writing workshop in the landscape, in which participants are invited to discover a path that will lead them to the exploration of humanist values ​​and the identification of the concept of freedom (religious, of expression, ideological). The project conceived by Isa Catarina Mateus is promoted by the Cineclube de Faro (Training Committee).

On Friday, September 16, Fortaleza de Sagres hosts the project “In Cinema – Integration, Indiscrimination and Inclusion”. During the morning, there will be two sessions of animated short films, aimed at the school community and in the afternoon, at 17 pm, there will be a session open to the general public, where the film “O Falcão Manteiga de Amendoim”, by Tyler Nilson (2019), followed by conversation with guests.

In Cinema- Integration, Indiscrimination and Inclusion is a project promoted by the Cineclube de Faro, which explores the ways in which cinema relates to the theme of Human Rights and is a tool to resolve some of the stigmas and barriers that societies – which claim to be just open, fraternal, free and solidary – face, through three fundamental ideas : Integration, Indiscrimination and Inclusion.

The show “Música para Todos” will be presented at Castelo de Aljezur, on October 17th, at 17:30 pm. An Ensemble of wood and percussion will present pieces of musical cultures from different parts of the world, inspiring unity and friendship among peoples, in an interculturality inherent to globalization and considering that Music, as a universal language, has always been a vector of Education for Culture and for Art. This is a project promoted by the Sociedade Filarmónica Lacobrigense 1º de Maio, with the support of the Municipality of Aljezur.

The cycle Amateurs in Situ continues in the Roman Ruins of Milreu, with the presentation of the lecture “Social differentiation and cosmopolitanism in Faro in Roman times” by João Pedro Bernardes, on the 17th of October, at 17 pm.

This was the society of Faro two thousand years ago: a cosmopolitan port city where many origins and cultures intersect. Times were different, with their own rules and idiosyncrasies, but tolerance and different forms of solidarity coexisted. From the epigraphy of the Roman city of Ossónoba, it is possible to observe the society, its values ​​and the forms of social coexistence in a world very different from ours – but which, at times, is closer to us than to the first. apparent sight'.

Paderne Castle is once again the stage for another DiVaM initiative on October 18, at 17 pm, with the show “The World in our Village”. This is part of the a capella performance by the Choral Group of the Banda Filarmónica de Paderne, followed by oriental dance and ends with the performance of “The Real Band”, with traditional music from Scotland and Ireland. The project is promoted by the Sociedade Musical e Recreio Popular de Paderne with the support of the Municipality of Albufeira.

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe hosts the concert “Patrimony – with Strings”, by the Youth Guitar Orchestra of the Algarve, on October 18th, at 17 pm, with the direction of Eudoro Grade. This is a project for the inclusion of communities from the west to the east of the Algarve, namely inland communities, promoted by the AGA – Associação de Guitarras do Algarve.
