A 39-year-old man who robbed an elderly man's house and stole his television was arrested this Wednesday, 28 October, in Quarteira.

According to the GNR, there was a "complaint" that led the military to go to the elderly man's house. This 82-year-old man told the military that the assailant "had rung the bell" and that, when he opened the door, "he was violently pushed" into the house.

Then the man "began to search his pockets in an attempt to locate valuables."

As a result, the suspect searched the interior of the house, eventually stealing the television and running away.

The victim transmitted the suspect's characteristics to the guard, who was detected shortly afterwards, still in possession of the television.

The detainee, with a criminal record of theft and robbery, was appointed as an accused, and is present at the Judicial Court of Loulé for the application of coercive measures.
