The Algarve was the region with the most occurrences caused, this Tuesday, 20 October, by the passage of the Bárbara depression.

Ao Sul Informação, a source from the Algarve District Command for Relief Operations (CDOS) said that, from 11:00 am yesterday, when the red warning began, until 23:59, 218 incidents were registered in the region.

"The occurrences were essentially linked to falling trees, structures and small floods, with no major damage to be registered," he explained.

Also "we are not aware of any injuries," added the same source.

These tree falls occurred all over the region., from Olhão to Monchique, on the coast and inland, throughout the day of yesterday.

On the other hand, events related to flooding also affected both Sotavento and Barlavento.

In Olhão, for example, it flooded the tunnel under the railway, near the CP station, which connects Avenida da República to Avenida Bernardino da Silva – something that is, by the way, usual whenever it rains with greater intensity.

In total, 1041 incidents were registered across the country, with the districts of Setúbal and Lisbon being the most affected, after Faro.
