Traffic on Estrada Nacional (EN) 266 is restricted this Monday, 14 September, due to work to remove a large tree, located in Caldas de Monchique.
Num post on Facebook, Rui André, mayor of Monchique, explained that traffic is taking place “inside Caldas de Monchique for light vehicles”.
"For heavy vehicles, alternative routes are being advised, namely via Alferce/Laranjeira and Nave/Casais," he added.
As for "normality of traffic will be resumed as soon as possible".
Communication and energy services are, in turn, provided by the pickets of EDP, PT and DS Telekom, in the case of energy using a generator installed on site.
Rui André also explains that «we all like the beauty and grandeur of this type of tree», but «the safety of people and goods must always come first».
