Rui Massena and Maria João promise to liven up “Nights on the Wharf” in Lagos

To ensure safety rules, the space will be organized into 239 places

It will be “Nights on the Wharf”, lively and safe. Lagos prepared four nights of music, with names like Rui Massena and Maria João, from the 24th to the 27th of September, at Cais das Descobertas, with «the walls and the starry sky as a backdrop».

«Symbol of the rich history of Lagos, the Cais das Descobertas was chosen to intertwine with the modernity of the shows in this exclusive experience, where all the security conditions are met for these cultural nights to be memorable», says the City Council.

Also included in this 1st edition of Noites no Cais will be the Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments, an initiative that has been part of the cultural fabric of the municipality for four years.

Organized by Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve with the support of 365Algarve and the municipality of Lagos, the guest artists will reveal «the depth of this musical genre», guarantees the municipality.

South African Tutu Puoane with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra (25th), French Camille Quartet (26th) and Portuguese Maria João “Ogre Electric” (27th) will be the protagonists of this true celebration of Jazz.

Tickets will cost 5 euros per show, and can be purchased at the reception of the Centro Cultural de Lagos or at Ticketline sales outlets and partners.

To guarantee the safety rules, the space will be organized in 239 places distributed in chairs (89) and puffs (150), being guaranteed the physical distance of 1,5 meters between them.

For support, assistants will be present who will guide spectators to their places, which are assigned in order of arrival. Different entrances and exits will be signposted and will have alcohol gel available.

After each show, the venue will be subject to a cleaning and disinfection intervention. For everyone's safety, the use of a mask is mandatory.
