New photographic guide travels through the beauties of Faro

Photo guide also has explanatory texts.

The Union of Parishes of Faro launched a photographic guide about the Algarve capital and its heritage.

According to Bruno Lage, president of the União das Freguesias de Faro, «the city has a history shaped over the centuries by different civilizations, where the city's cultural heritage includes dozens of remarkable monuments and buildings that reflect these influences, in a well-defined cultural heritage that is still manifested today at the architectural level , historical and identity'.

Therefore, says the municipality, «Faro it is, without a doubt, a must-visit city for the many national and foreign tourists who, in addition to the search for sun and beach, want to know more about the natural wealth of the Ria Formosa and the history and culture of the Algarve».

This Photographic Guide seeks to portray the city and its heritage: «each image intends to speak for itself and reproduce realities in a symbiosis between man and camera. They are simple photographs, without the concern of obtaining a strong artistic imprint, with the aim of recording aspects of what exists in our city and which, at times, escapes our attention», explains the municipality.

This Photographic Guide, bilingual (Portuguese and English), has, in addition to photographs, explanatory texts of the most emblematic monuments and buildings in the city.

The publication can be purchased at the headquarters and delegations of the União das Freguesias de Faro, but it will soon be available in other parts of the city, and interested parties may contact the União das Freguesias de Faro to make this publication available in their establishments (289 889 760).
