The decision on whether or not to hold the next edition of the “365Algarve” program will be announced “in November”, revealed Ângela Ferreira, the Assistant Secretary of State and Cultural Heritage, before attending the show “O Homem de Fogo” in São Brás de Alportel, this Saturday.
The government official explained to journalists that "an evaluation is still being carried out" of the current edition, which was heavily affected by the pandemic and, as such, is still ongoing. This analysis is the responsibility not only of the Ministry of Culture, but also of the Ministry of Economy, namely the Secretary of State for Tourism, which jointly finance “365Algarve”.
«We continue to study with the office of the Secretary of State for Tourism and I hope that during the month of November we can advance new developments in this matter», explained Ângela Ferreira.
After all, this is a program that aims to guarantee cultural entertainment in the Algarve region, during the low season. And, despite everything, this is what it has been doing, after the pandemic forced the postponement of much of the programming of the current edition of 365, which should have taken place between October 2019 and May 2020.
«Just yesterday I was in Lagos for the opening of the Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments Festival and attended a fabulous concert by the Algarve Jazz Orchestra. And there are still many activities taking place in the programming of the fourth edition, which were interrupted due to the State of Emergency and Covid-19», illustrated the Assistant Secretary of State and Cultural Heritage.
«Right now, we are studying, together with Tourism, the conditions for holding the fifth edition of “365Algarve”», concluded Ângela Ferreira.
