Schools in São Brás «are prepared» for a school year marked by the pandemic

Schools have implemented several measures

The schools of São Brás de Alportel "are prepared" for the beginning of the school year, guaranteed Vítor Guerreiro, the Mayor of São Brás de Alportel, following his visits to the county's educational establishments, to see on the spot the efforts being made to address the return to school in a pandemic context.

Vítor Guerreiro, accompanied by the board of directors of the José Belchior Viegas School Group and by the president of the Association of Parents and Guardians of that school group, was on the ground to «evaluate the implementation of the prevention measures implemented by the School Group, in partnership with the City Council and the António Viegas Calçada Children's Centre”, as well as to “support teachers, educators, assistants and the entire educational community, which is experiencing moments of great demand and complexity”.

«Our schools are prepared and aware of this great challenge, as a result of a lot of work, a lot of commitment and with the proximity that is our practice in the municipality, where the City Council and the group work side by side for the benefit of children and their welfare be”, declared Vítor Guerreiro, during the visit.

This year, the José Belchior Viegas School Group includes more than 165 teachers, around 119 employees and 1596 students, from pre-school to secondary education.
