Docapesca puts up for competition work to make navigation in the Port of Quarteira safer

Work has a base price of 31 thousand euros

Docapesca has opened a tender for the work of visual signaling the state of the bar and storm warnings in the fishing port of Quarteira, an intervention with a base price of 31 euros that will be carried out in the context of support to the operations of the Maritime Authority's lifesaving station National, which officially opened on September 8th.

"The purpose of the signaling mast to be installed is to indicate to navigation the status of the bar and storm warnings, ensuring increased safety for those who sail in this area, including the crew of more than 250 fishing vessels operating in the port of Quarteira and the nautical sportsmen», describes the public company.

This work is complementary to the Quarteira lifesaving station, which “began operating in May with the support of Docapesca and the Loulé City Council. It came to fill a gap of 30 miles, between Olhão and Ferragudo, where such infrastructure did not exist».

In addition to placing the signaling mast, the contract for the rehabilitation of the ramp at the fishing port of Quarteira is also up for tender, a project that will cost around 51 euros.
