Covid-19: Aljezur reinforces financial support for firefighters and the Casa da Criança do Rogil

Support totals a little over 9 euros

The City Council of Aljezur will reinforce its support to the firefighters and the Casa da Criança do Rogil, an investment of more than 800 thousand euros that aims to help these institutions to acquire protection and disinfection material.

At the last Council meeting, a proposal was approved to award "extraordinary support in the amount of 4328,30 euros, to the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Aljezur, and 4760 euros to Casa da Criança do Rogil", according to the municipality.

«These supports are intended for the acquisition of protection and disinfection material, for use by the ULDM and in day care centers and, in the case of the Firefighters Association, for its operators to be able to carry out their mission, with more safety and protection for themselves and to those who are helped,” explained the Council of Aljezur.

The municipality justifies this extraordinary support with the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought "a redoubling of expenses" to the institutions, "with the protection and hygiene care to be taken, not only with users, but also with all workers, who directly or indirectly work in these institutions».

«This has been the position of the municipality, since the first day of the pandemic, to meet these institutions so that they can perform and serve as best as possible the citizens of the municipality of Aljezur in their different missions. This is a financial effort that we will continue to make, always with a view to protecting all the municipality's residents», concludes the City Council of Aljezur.
