Carlos Gouveia Martins was re-elected this Saturday, September 5, as president of the PSD/Portimão Political Committee. Herberto Quental, on the other hand, was elected president of the Plenary Board of Portimonense activists.
The PSD/Portimão emphasizes that "in a renewed list and with many "recovered" leaders" there is a "clear sign of unity and pacification within the party", with João Carlos Santana being the representative while Filipe Abreu was the first subscriber to the only list to votes.
In the new political commission chaired by Carlos Gouveia Martins, João Rosado and Natalino Alves will be the vice presidents, Vitor Couto will be secretary and Ricardo Viana will be the new Treasurer. The current councilor of the PSD will be the municipal coordinator of the so-called “Shadow Government” to all areas of the municipal executive.

Another novelty presented by Carlos Gouveia Martins is the constitution of the Municipal Advisory and Strategic Council. In this consultative body, Ilídio Martins (former president of the Parish Council of Portimão in 1989) will be part of this consultative body, and will have the support of the historic Algarvian mayors Joaquim Piscarreta (former deputy and former mayor of Lagoa) and Isabel Soares ( former mayor of Silves City Council).
