Câmara de Lagos to join the Algarve STP Association

Association is «aligned with the strategy of the municipality of Lagos»

The Câmara de Lagos decided, at the last local council meeting on 2 September, to join the Algarve STP association. 

In a press release, the Chamber says that this association is "aligned with the strategy of the municipality of Lagos, in supporting entrepreneurship and companies and in promoting cooperation with researchers and partners with a view to technological innovation and job growth in the era digital".

Payment will be 2500 euros per year (annual fee fixed).

Algarve STP was created with a view to the collaborative development between companies and university institutions, the provision of services in the field of innovation and new technologies, the promotion of the publication of scientific results and the formation of new technology-based companies.

It currently has the collaboration of the University of Algarve, Associação Algarve Evolution, ANJE – Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Algarve, Docapesca SA and the municipalities of Loulé and Faro.

Being recognized as a Digital Innovation Hub (DIH), its role is also to support companies to make them more competitive in the digital age through the improvement of their production processes, also allowing access to knowledge, experience, technology and commercial support and financial in the implementation and operationalization of innovations.

Joining this project will allow «the municipality of Lagos to reinforce its strategies in support of entrepreneurship, also functioning as a magnet to attract new and creative talents and investors for the development of Lagos and the Algarve in the digital field».

Moreover, the autarchy has taken measures and actions to support entrepreneurship, start-ups and to companies, with projects such as the new Cowork space, joining the Investalgarve Network and Algarve Revit +, an Entrepreneurship in Schools initiative, the Lagos Start On to Start Up meeting and the new Espaço Empresa.
