1,5 tons of hash was seized from a boat this Sunday, September 13, on the Guadiana River.
According to the GNR, the soldiers of the Vila Real de Santo António Coastal Control Unit were on a surveillance mission when "they detected a high-speed semi-rigid vessel approaching the Guadiana River, showing an atypical behavior."
Due to the suspicions, a «continuous monitoring of the vessel's movements was carried out, and the Maritime Team was activated to proceed with its interception».
“Noticing the presence of the GNR vessel, the individuals who were on board the suspicious vessel immediately fled, throwing the bales of hash overboard. In total, 48 bales of hash were seized and also some electronic equipment», says the Guard.
The occurrence was reported to the Judiciary Police, which will now proceed with the investigation.
