Hospitality Union wants meeting with AIHSA to discuss new collective labor contract

Union wants meeting on August 19

The Algarve Hotel Trade Union «demands» the AIHSA – Association of Hotel and Similar Industries of the Algarve to review the collective labor contract and delivered, this Monday, a motion, at the headquarters of the employers' association, «which requires urgent appointments a meeting to negotiate an agreement that will lead to better wages and working conditions'.

The union leadership was meeting this Monday morning, to make "a balance of the work developed in the workplaces and the struggle carried out by the workers".

Under analysis was also what the union says is "the boycott that the sector's employers are carrying out in relation to the necessary and urgent improvement in wages and the intensification of exploitation that is taking place in the region".

In the afternoon, the union members delivered the motion to the AIHSA and sent a request for a meeting for the next 19th of August.

The union guarantees that “it will continue to clarify and mobilize workers to fight for better working and living conditions, reaffirming that only with their struggle and unity will the employers accept the proposals that the Union has been presenting to the companies and employers' associations in the sector, namely, AIHSA – Association of Hotel and Similar Industry in the Algarve and AHETA – Association of Hotels and Touristic Enterprises of the Algarve».
