Portimão implements awareness program about Covid-19 for the construction sector

Municipality, in partnership with the Authority for Working Conditions, Public Health and Social Security Unit

Three sessions on Covid-19 aimed at building owners, safety coordinators and civil construction subcontractors operating in the area of ​​the municipality of Portimão, took place throughout the week, in Portimão, as part of its Municipal Plan to combat the pandemic.

The sessions were promoted in partnership with the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), with the Public Health and Social Security Unit, «with the aim of increasing the capacity to mitigate the risk of contagion in the construction sites of the county'.

The sessions for the construction sector take place in the auditorium of Portimão Arena and follow an awareness program, developed since last February, which has already reached different sectors of the local community, in a total of 89 actions and 1.264 people.

Sectors such as public and private education establishments, hotels, collectivities and recreational associations in the county, leaders and elements of the Roma community, migrants of Asian and Indian origin, concessionaires and beach assistants, lifeguards, were covered. operators of the Municipal Market of Avenida S. João de Deus and coordinators and monitors of the Summer Vacation, among others.

During this next week, from the 3rd to the 8th of August, there will be awareness actions aimed at the associative mass, from sport and culture to social support.

This program, promoted by the Municipal Civil Protection Service in partnership with the Authority for Working Conditions, also involves the Public Health and Social Security Unit of Portimão.

The construction sector has been, in recent weeks, the most responsible for outbreaks of Covid-19, namely in several locations in the municipalities of Loulé and Albufeira.
