Música JÁ – IPDJ Algarve 2020 Modern Music Contest arranges on the 7th of August, at 22 pm, with the first round in a new format, without audience and live online, on the social networks of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and IPDJ.
Four musical projects will participate in this knockout: Mateus Verde, Apocalypse, Maybe Kyes and WTDPG.
On August 11, at 21 pm, live from Lagoa, the second round of Musica JÁ will be broadcast, with the participation of the projects Elephant Woman, Catalina, Dispirited Spirits and Cranky Geeks and broadcast on the social networks of Municipality of Lagoa and the IPDJ.
The eight musical projects, which have already had a first selection, will now be evaluated in the qualifiers by a jury that “will value creativity, technique, stage performance, as well as originality and lyrical and musical content”, explains the IPDJ.
Of these eight projects, four will compete in the final, on August 12, starting at 19:30 pm, at Espaço Quintalão, in Faro, marking the
International Youth Day Celebrations.
In addition to the participation of the four finalist projects, the final of Música JÁ will also feature the performance of the winning project of the 1st Edition, The Black Teddys.
Música JÁ awards include concerts at the F Festival, Fatacil, Feira da Serra and at a FNAC store, the recording of an EP, the production of a video clip, the inclusion of a theme in the daily schedule of Rua FM and the offer of a check ETIC_Algarve training.
Música JÁ «has as its main objective to promote and publicize amateur musical projects of young people residing in the Algarve region» and is an initiative of the Regional Directorate of the Algarve of the IPDJ, produced by MENTECAPTA Produções Audio, in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, Lagoa City Council, S. Brás de Alportel City Council, ETIC_ Algarve, RUA FM – Rádio Universitária do Algarve, the Academic Association of the University of Algarve and FNAC Portugal.
