Faro have new vans for school transport

Vehicles cost 80 thousand euros

The Chamber of Faro bought two school transport vans, with 9 seats, which are already in circulation, and which help «to ensure free transport for all children and young people who attend the network of public schools in the municipality».

The two vehicles cost around 80 euros, were delivered on Thursday, August 13, and are approved and prepared for the transport of children.

According to the Chamber of Faro, this acquisition allows “the municipality to reinforce the school transport fleet and take an important step towards the full access of all students to education, regardless of their material or social condition”.

The City Council of Faro recalls that it has already approved the new school transport plan for the 2020/2021 school year, which represents a total investment of close to 492 euros and provides for “free transport for all students at all levels of education.

The implementation of this plan includes public land routes (bus, minibus or municipal vehicles), public river routes and a special river circuit for students residing in the housing centers of the island of Culatra.
